Our Heritage and Foundation

Gamateks was founded in 1984 by Osman Aydınlı in Denizli, Turkey. What began as a small sewing atelier in a region renowned for its rich textile heritage quickly grew into a thriving textile business. In its early years, the company focused on high-quality textile production, building a reputation for craftsmanship and reliability that set the stage for future growth.

Growth into a Fully Integrated Textile Manufacturer

From these humble beginnings, Gamateks evolved into a fully integrated textile powerhouse, controlling every step of production from yarn to finished garment. By the early 1990s, the company had established its own fabric mill, adding sizing, warping, and weaving operations in a 12,500 m² facility to support in-house textile manufacturing. In 1996, Gamateks expanded further by opening a state-of-the-art dyeing, printing, and finishing facility – a critical step that enabled end-to-end production under one roof. The late 1990s and 2000s brought continued diversification: knitwear production was added with new machinery investments in 2000, and additional apparel manufacturing facilities came online, such as a modern sewing plant in Dazkırı in 2005. This vertical integration means every stage is meticulously controlled, ensuring consistent quality and allowing the company to respond swiftly to fast-changing market demands.

The 2000s also saw Gamateks extend its footprint beyond Denizli. Dedicated design teams were established in fashion hubs like Istanbul and London to stay ahead of trends and better serve international clients. The company set up liaison offices and showrooms in key global markets – including opening offices in London, Düsseldorf, and Prato by 2017 – to strengthen its international presence. In 2009, Gamateks marked a major milestone by opening its first overseas production facility in Alexandria, Egypt, and a second factory in Egypt followed in 2018 as part of continued expansion. Throughout this growth, Gamateks kept its focus on community values: for example, it opened a new sewing facility in 2014 in the Turkish city of Batman as a social responsibility initiative, creating jobs in an underserved region.

Sustainability and Environmental Leadership

Sustainable manufacturing is at the heart of Gamateks’ philosophy. In 2012, the company gained international recognition by becoming the world’s first fully eco-friendly dye-house, pioneering environmentally responsible dyeing processes. Gamateks has since made significant strides in reducing its environmental footprint – from implementing water-saving and chemical-recycling technologies to using organic and recycled materials in production. All products are made with strict adherence to safety and environmental standards; for instance, Gamateks holds OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification to ensure its textiles are safe for both consumers and the planet. Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for Gamateks, but a core value that guides continuous improvements in its operations.

The company also invests heavily in clean energy and resource efficiency. In 2020, Gamateks installed a large-scale solar power system at its main production campus, harnessing Turkey’s abundant sunlight as a sustainable energy source. This 6.6 MWp rooftop installation now provides a significant portion of the facility’s power and is estimated to offset over 5.000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions each year – equivalent to the annual electricity use of hundreds of homes. Beyond such projects, Gamateks participates in industry initiatives aiming to protect local waterways and reduce pollution through better chemical management and wastewater treatment. By leading the way in green manufacturing, Gamateks stands at the forefront of eco-conscious textile production, proving that high product quality can go hand-in-hand with environmental responsibility.

Global Presence and Capabilities

Today, Gamateks is a truly global enterprise with integrated operations spanning multiple countries. With over 3,000 employees and more than 100,000 m² of indoor production space, the company runs production and design facilities across five countries and eight locations. Its major manufacturing hubs in Turkey are complemented by international facilities in Egypt, supported by liaison offices and showrooms in strategic markets such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy. An international design network – with teams in Turkey, London, Manchester, Australia, Germany, and Italy – keeps Gamateks’ collections in tune with global trends and client expectations. This worldwide infrastructure not only enables close collaboration with customers but also ensures efficient, timely delivery to markets around the globe.

Gamateks’ vertical integration and scale translate into impressive production capacity and product diversity. The company can produce millions of meters of fabric and over 3.2 million finished textile products annually, offering a broad product mix to meet different market needs. Gamateks manufactures everything from high-quality knit fabrics and casual apparel to technical sportech textiles and home textile goods. Its commitment to quality and reliability has earned the trust of many of the world’s leading brands. Gamateks exports to prestigious retailers and fashion labels – including well-known names like Zara, Mango, Marks & Spencer, C&A, United Colors of Benetton, and the various brands of the Inditex group – delivering products that consistently meet these clients’ exacting standards. As of 2018, the company’s reach extended to customers in 62 countries, underscoring Gamateks’ strong global market presence and reputation for excellence.

Diversified Products and Return to Home Textiles

Over nearly four decades, Gamateks has honed expertise across a wide spectrum of textile products. Benefiting from Denizli’s legacy in home textiles, the company initially made its name with products like towels and bedding before becoming a major force in fashion apparel and knit fabrics. In recent years, Gamateks has made a strong re-entry into the bedding and home textile sector. This move – after roughly twenty years focused primarily on apparel – marks a return to the company’s roots and heritage in home textiles. By leveraging its deep experience and modern manufacturing capabilities, Gamateks is able to bring fresh innovation to the bedding market while upholding the superior quality that customers expect. Notably, the company’s bedding products today blend the comfort of traditional craftsmanship with the advantages of cutting-edge textile technology, offering consumers luxurious softness, long-lasting durability, and the assurance of sustainable production.

Commitment to Quality, Innovation, and Community

Throughout its growth, Gamateks has remained true to core values of quality, innovation, and social responsibility. The company’s dedicated R&D Center – the first Ministry-certified R&D center in its home province of Denizli – drives continuous improvement in materials and processes, keeping Gamateks at the cutting edge of textile technology. This commitment to innovation and excellence has earned Gamateks recognition among Turkey’s top industrial companies, reflecting the company’s relentless pursuit of superior quality and its forward-looking business strategy.

Equally important is Gamateks’ commitment to its people and community. The company views its thousands of employees as a family and invests in their well being and development. It has undertaken initiatives that give back to the community, from building local childcare facilities to creating jobs in developing regions. The 2014 expansion to Batman, for example, was not just a business decision but part of a social responsibility program to boost employment in that area. Gamateks also supports environmental and educational projects in its hometown of Denizli, reinforcing its role as a responsible corporate citizen. By upholding high standards in how it operates, cares for the environment, and supports society, Gamateks has built a strong brand reputation synonymous with trust, innovation, and sustainability. These values continue to guide the company as it forges ahead, improving continuously and striving to make a positive impact through every textile it produces.
